All of these angels found their forever homes!

Waldo's (formerly Aldo) Update (01/26/2010)

Waldo was shy the first day we brought him home, but within hours he was a ball of fun. Now he has the most fun and lovable personality. Everyone we've introduced him to has aboslutely loved him, from everyone at my family reunion, to our little 2-yr old nephew who loves to yell "Waldo get the ball". Our only worry when friends or family are doggy-sitting him is that they won't want to give him back! Waldo has been a great walking partner, hiker, swimmer and travel mate. After a great group lesson from Arlington County, he now recognizes "Sit, Down, Leave it, and Drop it". He adores peanut butter and sniffing our dirty laundry. Thank you so much for rescuing him and bringing him into our lives.

Wally's (formerly Herb) Update (01/12/2010)

I adopted Wally aka Herb in Feburary of 2009 and He is such a wonderful boy. He has been getting along so well with his sister Fenway, who cant go anywhere without him, and his cousin Riley who was adopted for you guys as well from my brother and his wife. They are all very close and love to play and I just wanted to take a minute and truely thank you for the joy that you have brought my family. I love Wally so much I dont know what I would do without him. I have been told from so many people that he is one of the nicest dogs that they have been around and they can not believe that he was a rescue dog. I am constant talking about your organization and about how wonderful it is for you guys to be doing what your doing. Keep up the good work. Again thank you so much.

Molly's (formerly Brooksie) Update (12/17/2009)

Molly has been a part of our family since January. She is just the sweetest dog ever. She is well behaved and extremely loving with everyone. It's fun to take her to the dog park...she gets along so well with all the dogs there. She also enjoys her daily play dates with my neighbor's dog CC, a chocolate Lab. Since this will be Molly's first Christmas with us, I'm attaching our Christmas photo card and one of her with her best friend CC. We will always be grateful to Vickie and to Molly's foster "mom" Molli for this wonderful addition to our family. She is our perfect dog and we love her very much.

Cash's (formerly Clancy) Update (10/30/2009)

Just thought we would give you an update of "Clancy" who we have renamed Cash. We got him in August. He has gained about 15lbs and is such a wonderful dog. He is so very friendly with other dogs and people. He LOVES the dog park and going on hikes. As you can tell we have also made him an Ohio State fan. He is a very intelligent dog. Thank You and we have told everyone they should adopt!

Diesel's (formerly Ben) Update (10/16/2009)

Diesel (formerly Ben) loves going through the obstacle course our daughter made in the yard for him. He may be a candidate for agility training when he is older! He was initially shy but is now very curious and loves to meet people and other dogs. His favorite dog friend is a Great Dane named Big Ben. We walk in the reservation near our house every day where he gets lots of exercise chasing toads, butterflies and leaves. He has even had a puppy play date with his sister Zoe (formerly Jen) who was adopted locally also. This was the best family decision we have ever made, we tell everyone about our "rescue puppy".

Quila's (formerly Mindy) Update (10/16/2009)

We adopted Quila (previously called Mindy) March 28, 2009 and it was love at first sight. She only has 3 legs but we quickly learned that it doesn't stop her from accomplishing ANYTHING! She runs fast as lightning. She is a very friendly and happy dog who especially loves giving kisses. Quila is a Mommy's girl. She is always by my side and very protective of me. One of her favorite activities is going for RIDES. In fact ,she rides in an infant car seat, and as soon as I open the car door she sprints into the car , jumps to the back, and plops her self in, its so cute. When playing outside she loves to run in a circles, the middle of the circle is always where I am sitting. Her record so far is 26 laps without stopping. She also enjoys what we call her "happy dance" which is when she moves around on her back in an 's' formation, and she also does what we call the "army crawl" . Quila's best friends are all cats, she does OK with dogs as long as she doesn't have to share them with her Mommy. I want to give a big thank you to Vickie and Rescue Angels for helping us find out perfect little angel. My family, Friends and I love her so much! :)

Sally Sweet Pickle's Update (09/30/2009)

We adopted Sally in August 2009 and welcomed her to our family, which includes two cats. Sally is a wonderful puppy who is very playful, loves children, and has more energy than we ever imagined! She loves to go for long walks and thinks every person and dog wants to be her friend. Sally still has to adjust to life with two senior cats who DO NOT want to play with her. All in all, everyone is getting along fine. Sally loves to play catch in our fenced-in backyard, sun bath/sleep on the pool cover, and go for long walks at Horne Pond in Woburn, MA. We've started puppy school and hope to finish at the top of the class! Us, not the puppy! We're so happy we adopted her, love her to pieces, and thank Rescue Angels for the wonderful service they provide. It was also nice to see an update on Sally's brother, Wally, on the Success Story page of the website.

Jasper's Update (09/27/2009)

This is Jasper, whom my wife and I adopted in July 2009. We could not be happier having Jasper as part of our family. Not really knowing what to expect from rescuing our first dog, we are amazed every day at how loving, affectionate and obedient Jasper has been since he came to us. He came to us crate and house trained, but from day 1, there hasn't been a need to use a crate and he has been amazingly well behaved. We got Jasper not really knowing too much about his background other than he is a lab mix of some sort. After observing him and doing some research over the last few months of having him, we are pretty sure he is a Lab/Whippet Mix. The dog park brings out the Whippet in him as he is always the fastest dog in the park. We can't thank Rescue Angels and especially Jasper's foster parents enough for taking such good care of him and helping to bring such a wonderful dog to us.

Camden's (formerly Twix) Update (09/07/2009)

Camden immediatly adapted to her new home! She loves to play and can't go to sleep at night without her favorite toy "Football Man". She is very smart, she has already learned to "sit", "lay" and "high five". Camden is excited to play with her feline big brother Buster even if he is a little intimidated by her energy. We are very lucky to have found her and we know she is going to be wonderful addition to our family for a long time!

Jack's (formerly Freddie) Update (09/05/2009)

Hi there. Its been almost seven months since I got Jack (formally Freddie). He's doing absolutely wonderfully in his new home. He's highly energetic and loves to play tug a war with me at home and never stops running with his friends at day care. Jack knows some commands and although he has "selective hearing" at times, overall he is a great little guy. I do not know what I'd do without him. Thank you for such a great friend.

Penny's (formerly Peaches) Update (09/02/2009)

Penny (formerly Peaches) is a happy and wonderful addition to our family. She is very sweet and cuddly, but also loves to run and play fetch with the kids. She loves other dogs and is happiest when we meet one on our daily walks, or when she is on her way to doggy playgroup! She's a well behaved dog. We did go through some obedience training, but mostly just to establish us as her new people. She was already a pro with so many commands. Thanks for helping us find our pet!

Piper's (formerly Wendy) Update (09/01/2009)

Piper is doing great and has settled in with us perfectly. She and our other dog are great friends. As you can see from her pictures, she's put on weight (she's just shy of 60 lbs) and is much less timid than she was when we got her. She has tons of energy and loves going for walks and to the dog park. We're very happy to have her and I can't thank you and your organization enough for saving her for us.

Tia's Update (08/28/2009)

Tia is such a wonderful little pup! It's only been 2 weeks and she's grown so much! She was very shy when we first brought her home, but started coming out of her shell shortly after. She is definitely a morning dog...loves to play at 7am :) Tia also loves playing with other dogs, especially the neighbor's rottweiler/shepherd mix whose 90 lbs! We are very blessed to have this wonderful little puppy as part of our family.

Pal's (formerly Wally) Update (08/24/2009)

We wanted a dog for years! After looking long and hard we found a great place to get one, Rescue Angels! Pal was finally adopted just a few days ago. Rescue Angles was so nice and helpful. So far he has been great! He is a playful happy boy, who loves to cuddle!! We absolutely LOVE him! We are so happy with our new pup!

Milo's (formerly Scamp) Update (06/26/2009)

Well, I will first start off by saying I am a Rescue Angels failed foster (and a VERY proud one!)! Milo (previously Scamp- also the brother of Samantha above) was my seventh foster dog, and the CUTEST one at that! I had no intentions of adopting a dog at the time but had him for about 3 weeks before I decided he HAD to be mine :) I've had him since he was about about 8 weeks old and he is now almost 6 months! He's definitely a "wild child" and tests my patience at times (what child doesn't!) but even with all his wildness, he's the sweetest, most playful puppy! Milo looooves treats (especially string cheese!) and knows lots of commands (sit, down, shake, roll over, crawl, leave it, etc.)... while he may not ALWAYS listen to them, haha, he is quite the smart (mischevious) boy! Thank you so much Rescue Angels for dropping this little angel in to my lap (or should I say home!)... I couldn't imagine life without him!

Mocha's Update (06/23/2009)

Mocha update. Sorry I haven't written one in a while, Mocha and I have been busy. She is doing great. She graduated from Puppy Kindergarten with "exceptional merit"! Not sure exactly what that means, but the diploma is on the fridge door, front and center. We are now attending the follow-up puppy course. She enjoys it, but gets too excited when another puppy starts barking or acting up. The instructor seemed amazed that I adopted an Aussie after I had helped raise two other Aussies. :) Yeah, she's a bit high-energy and can be a spaz, but come on! Aussies are awesome, and she's a very fast learner if I am consistent and engaging with the lessons. She gets along great with my three cats. They have accepted her into the pack. She is a bit rough with them sometimes when she is all excited, but she is usually fairly careful to not squash them when they play. We haven’t gone swimming yet, because it has pretty much been raining the entire month of June here so the water hasn’t warmed up enough, but when we get a few sunny days in a row the water will warm to the mid 80's and I will take her swimming. She will love that. She doesn’t mind getting baths and she never seems to mind or even notice the rain. Unfortunately she also seems to really enjoy mud. :) You win some, you lose some.

Mouse's Update (06/10/2009)

Mouse is doing great! She weighed in at 26.8 pounds last week (but lets continue to call her "little" Mouse anyway!). She's very healthy and very happy. Yesterday was funny because a storm came through and blew the front door open (it wasn't pulled shut tight) and I looked out the window and there was Mouse frolicking in the front yard. She's a riot though because you never know what she's going to do - it's like she has a sense of humor. Her new, somewhat annoying, trick is she likes to jump in the shower with people. The first time she did it I thought it was by accident and assumed the experience was not a good one so that would be the end of that. She's done it twice since then , which has taught the kids to pull the bathroom door shut tight or you might have a visitor. She has not chewed anything she wasn't supposed to at all, except she has this terrible habit of swiping paper products! Toilet paper, tissues and napkins have to be kept out of her reach (forget about putting your napkin on your lap because it will be stolen!) At first I think it was just a game - it was really fun when she first got the end of a toilet paper roll and ran through several rooms! Then she would just shred the paper, which was silly but ok. Now when she gets it she eats it - which is why she's not allowed near it. I have to laugh because most dogs in the kitchen would be sniffing around the table for food, Mouse is looking for the napkins!

Schroeder's (formerly Junior) Update (06/05/2009)

Schroeder was neutered yesterday and is doing fine. He looks like an Aussie in color but, shape and temperament he is more like a golden. He loves the water. I took him to the lake and he almost pulled me in with him. Schroeder started swimming right away, he tried to pull his friend in but his friend does not like the water. He also has a little swimming pool in the backyard. Schroeder loves the dog park last time we were there he found a 9 month old puppy to play with after an hour of wrestling he was so dirty. He has one problem at the dog park, he keeps dumping out the water dishes so he can make a mud puddle to play in. He is a clown a lot of fun to have around. He likes to bug Marcy and likes to trick her out of her bone, she falls for it every time. Well that's all for now!

Maddie's (formerly Velvet) Update (06/04/2009)

Maddie LOVES the water...she is so smart too. She would reach into the steps, and if she could touch the bottom she would jump down on it...then she would reach out for the next. If it was too deep she would jump back...too cute. She barked at the horse. She has seen them at Rock Creek Park, and she isn't too impressed. She LOVES other dogs though. She is getting so big. She chases her shadow and likes play with the door stoppers on the wall (which can be quite irritating) but other than that she is doing fantastic!

Charlie's (formerly Mugsy) Update (05/16/2009)

Charlie is doing very well! Growing, growing, growing!! Long legs and long tail. He has adapted to the crate and usually sleeps thru the night. Actually starts getting sleepy around nine. He went with me to pick up my daughter from college and did great with the traveling. A big hit with the college kids. And he bonded w/ my daughter immediately. We have a weekly playdate with a german shepherd pup that is a week younger but a tad bigger. It is great fun to watch them and very easy to tell when they are tired and done. Likes playing with soccer ball and we are heading to a canine carnival tomorrow.

Samantha's (formerly Sydney) Update (05/04/2009)

Samantha (Previously Sydney, adopted in February) is doing so very well. She's totally spoiled and becoming a well trained doggy (Speak, Sit, Down, Come, Peanut Butter, and Outside are well known). She's fully house trained and sleeps with us through the night in our room. She's got a doggy friend next door who she loves to play with and race along the fence. We go just about everywhere together. She's friendly to other dogs, demonstrated when she goes up to just about any dog and licks them in the face. Everyone she meets loves her, and she gets so excited when she meets just about anyone (jumping and licking away). She's got a unique personality. We provide her with a bone, and she whines until she can find an appropriate place to bury it (note the muddy picture below). This is usually in the back yard, or under one of her blankets. She's a riot. We are now 100% sure she is half doberman and half german shepherd after locating other dogs with the same mix.

We LOVE to hear how our little Angels are doing in their forever homes; if you've adopted a Rescue Angels pup we would love for you to submit a picture and update!
