MAX

About: Max is a male Lab/ Shepherd mix. He is black with a tinge of brown throughout only seen in the proper light, and some tinges of grey under his armpits. His DOB is December 14, 2008 which makes him about a year and a half old. He is approximately 65 lbs, neutered, crate and house trained. The words used are "outside" and "potty". He seems to be ok around other dogs, although he has mostly been around smaller dogs. He has never been around any other type of animal. As he is still a pup, he does like to chew so he will need to be watched while he's in his puppy stage. Max is currently in a home with 5 & 6 year olds and a baby on the way. The family can no longer keep him as their situation has changed and feel that they cannot give Max the time and attention that a dog needs. Max does bark but usually only if provoked, such as a doorbell, weed wacker, other dogs barking, more loud noises that are fairly constant type thing. Max is crate trained and will go on command, by using the word the word "box" or "bed". Max is kept in his crate when no one is at home and at bedtime. He does not have free run of the house when no one is home. Max would probly be ok around children who are 10 -12 years as he's still too puppyish for smaller children. Max is a wonderful dog but he is too big of a dog to be around small children. He loves to play and get a lot of attention. He just needs an experienced dog owner that can devote some basic training time with him to help him thru this ackward puppy stage. Max is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventitives.
